French Assessment Tasks Introduction
This document aims to provide Modern Foreign Languages teachers with a
series of optional assessment tasks to be used in line with the QCA schemes
of work. This is a working document designed by Hertfordshire teachers for
Hertfordshire teachers. I hope that its availability on the Hertfordshire
website will make it easier for teachers to download the sections they need
and modify them to match their needs.
For each QCA unit of work you will find an "Interim Assessment" task, which
is meant to be used half way through the unit to guage pupils' progress.
The end of unit assessment is referred to as "Assessment". For each
assessment there is an indication of the expected range of National
Curriculum levels to be achieved. Each assessment is divided into a
pupil's version, ready for use, and notes to guide teachers in the
administration of these tests. On occasion, additional tasks for
reinforcement and more independent study have been included. A content
page should make it easier for you to find specific sections.
Art work has not always been included and you may wish to replace some of
the English words used here for simplicity of print by more Target Language
friendly drawings or forms of clip art.
Scores have been included for guidance only and may of course be changed to
accommodate each Modern Foreign Languages Department's marking policy.
I hope that sections in German will soon be available.
